Love SwimRun UK Rules and Terms and Conditions
for ‘Love SwimRun Llanberis’ and ‘Love SwimRun Holy Island’
The following Love SwimRun Race Rules and Terms and Conditions are deemed to have been accepted when you enter the race. Please read them carefully before entering.
1. Race organisation
Love RunSwim Llanberis, Love SwimRun Holy Island & Love SwimRun Dawn to Dusk are organised by Love SwimRun Ltd.

2. Entry pre-requisite
2.1 To participate in a Love SwimRun event in the UK you must be 18 years old be a strong swimmer.
3. Race courses
Love SwimRun Llanberis and Love SwimRun Dawn to Dusk will take place in Padarn Country Park, Llanberis, Snowdonia National Park, North Wales, UK.
Love SwimRun Holy Island will take place in Rhoscolyn, Holy Island Anglesey, North Wales, UK.
The finalised race route will not be published until 4 weeks prior to the race.
3.1 The race course will be marked and marshaled.
3.2 Participants must follow the marked course and instructions of marshals at all times – some areas of the course have fragile ecosystems that must be respected.
3.3 Participants that do not follow the marked course or instructions given by marshals will be disqualified.
3.4 We reserve the right to amend the course subject to weather conditions and the requirements of the management of Padarn Country Park and other land owners. Any changes will be explained in detail during the compulsory Race Brief.
3.5 Teams must arrive at each checkpoint and transition as a pair.
3.6 Teams must check in at all checkpoints. Do not leave the checkpoints without ensuring your race number has been recorded.
3.7 There will be water and food stations throughout the course.
3.8 There will be several medical points manned by trained first-aiders where participants can get help if needed
3.9 There will be trained first-aiders and equipment on kayaks.
4.1 Teams must present the following Mandatory equipment at Registration, the Start Line and the Finish Line:
4.2 Mandatory equipment
– 1 neoprene wetsuit per participant suitable for water temperature of 12 degrees Celsius
– 1 pair goggles per participant
– 1 pair suitable off road trainers per participant
– 1 whistle per participant
– 1 Tow float for each Solo competitor
– A system for carrying the Mandatory Kit during the race
– A water cup, bottle or hydration system.

4.3 Mandatory equipment that Love SwimRun will supply
– Timing chip* – must be returned to the event organisers at the finish line.
– Race bibs* – must be worn at all times during the race. Bibs must not be modified and must be returned to the event organisers at the finish line. Lost or damaged bib will be charged at £25 each.
– Swim caps must be worn during all the swims
4.4 Recommended equipment
– Spare Water
– Emergency food
– 1 mobile phone per team in waterproof case
4.5 Equipment that is NOT allowed
Floatation help that is bigger than 100 cm x 60 cm.
5. Timing & Cutoffs
5.1 The time is from the whistle blowing at the start until the last team member has crossed the finish line
5.2 The team has to pass all timing checkpoints and the finish together.
5.3 There will be one cut off times and locations specified for each event and displayed on the relevant web page. Teams must reach these points by a certain time to be able to continue with the race. If you are asked to retire from the race you must do so without question or complaint.
5.4 Information about the cut off times will be confirmed in the event handbook nearer to the event date.
6. Racers responsibility
6.1.1 The participants must know the rules and follow these.
6.1.2 The participants shall respect other participants, Love SwimRun members and volunteers, spectators and the people living in the race area.
6.1.3 The participants are not allowed to use unfair methods to get advantages.
6.1.4 Participants compete in this event entirely at their own risk.
6.1.5 Teams must sign the event disclaimer at Registration. Participants who have not signed the waiver will not be allowed to start the race.
6.2 Before the race
Participants may train and scout the course prior to the race but must respect the local residents and the environment.
6.3 During the race
6.3.1 The participants are taking part at their own risk and can not hold Love SwimRun or any of its members or volunteers responsible for any accident during the race.
6.3.2 Participants must offer assistance in case of emergency.
6.3.3 Teams of two must stay together at all times and must remain less than 100 metres apart on land and 10 metres apart in the water
6.3.4 If one team member retires the remaining member may not continue alone.
6.3.5 Participants that withdraw from the race shall report this as soon as possible to the organisers.
6.3.6 Participants withdrawing from the event must hand in their race bibs and chips at the finish line to claim their deposit.
6.3.7 Littering will not be tolerated and teams seen dropping litter will be disqualified.
6.3.8 The race organisers can prevent a team from continuing if they judge them not capable due to fatigue or poor physical condition. If you are asked to retire from the race you must do so without question or complaint.
6.3.9 No external assistance is allowed. Each team has to make their own way from start to finish.
6.3.10 The course is on open public rights of way. Any disregard for other users (on land or in water) or dangerous or offensive behavior, including being rude to race officials will result in disqualification.
6.3.11 The use of headphones is prohibited.
7. Complaints & protests
7.1 A protest must be given in writing to the race organisation within an hour after finishing the race.
7.2 A protest must include: Time and location , Team number and names of the team members , Team number or team name of the team that the protest is against , The reason for the protest – If possible include a witness with name and contact details or team number.
7.3 A protest that does not comply with the above will not be considered.
7.4 The protest will be reviewed by the Race Committee and a decision communicated to those involved as soon as possible
7.5 The Race Committee reserve the right to use “common sense” to take decisions about situations that aren’t clear in the rules
7.6 The Race Committee’s decision is final
7.8 All other complains must be made in writing to the race organisers using the contact details at the top of the page.
Failure to follow the rules will lead to disqualification
9.1 Cancellation of your online application can be made in accordance with online selling law up to 14 days after purchase, except where your application is made within two weeks of the event date. Within this time period a refund will be given minus any transaction fees from the entry system provider.
9.2 After the time period stipulated above your application is final. No refunds of entry fees will be given including in circumstances where you are unable to attend due to illness or injury or a scheduling conflict, unless: 1) the Organiser cancels or makes a significant change to the location of the event or the date of the event so that you are no longer able to attend, except (Force Majeure) where these changes are made due to unavoidable circumstances beyond the reasonable control of the organisers and could not reasonably have been foreseen or provided against (for example extreme bad weather, other Acts of God) where the safety or health of the participants would be put at risk. In the event of complete event cancellation in these circumstances you will be offered credit voucher to enter the event to following year. In the event of cancellation or date changes, no other costs or expenses incurred by you will be covered by Love SwimRun. We recommend you take out sports event insurance and travel insurance to cover these eventualities.
For entries made on or before Friday 13th March 2020:
You may transfer or defer your entry to another future event. This must be done at least 6 weeks in advance of the date of the event. This type of transfer cannot take place if the event you wish to transfer to is sold-out. Entries can only be transferred or deferred once and thereafter will not be able to be transferred or deferred. If the original entered event does not cover the cost of the event you are transferring to you will be responsible for paying the difference in cost. If the new event costs less than the original event you will not be subject to a refund for this amount. Deferrals are subject to a £10 admin fee (If you defer your entry you will receive a voucher code for the value of your original entry minus the £10 admin fee which you can use against your new entry the following year.) Deferrals must be taken up the following year or will become invalid.
For entries made after Friday 13th March 2020:
No deferrals are allowed. You may transfer your entry to another future event in the same year. This must be done at least 6 weeks in advance of the date of the original event you entered. Transfer cannot take place if the event you wish to transfer to is sold-out. Entries can only be transferred once and thereafter will not be able to be transferred. If the original entered event does not cover the cost of the event you are transferring to you will be responsible for paying the difference in cost. If the new event costs less than the original event you will not be subject to a refund for this amount.
9.4 You may change team members in your team once. Please inform event organisers using the Contact page.
9.5 Re-sale of entries is forbidden. Any transfers of your event entry to a third party will be subject to the consent of the Organiser.
9.6 Entry closure is 7 days prior to the event day. No changes will be made to your entry after this time.
10. Pictures and film free rights
The participants gives the race organisation the right to use pictures and film material taken during the race to be used free of rights in marketing, press material, internet, television and movie.
11. Accepting the rules
By entering the race, each participant / team member accepts the rules in full.
All images and rights from the event are reserved. All unauthorized commercial use of images will be legally addressed.
